The only part you'll really need to do is the NTDS metadata cleanup portion of the procedure, so you might just skip to that. I then fired up Active Directory Sites and Services, and was able to delete the old BDC from there, then was able to delete it from ADU&C. Make sure that "Protect from accidental deletion" is not checked.
