Has anyone else run into this. This is because a Global Catalog server holds a partial replica of every object in the forest. I've set the scanning up identical to how it was in my SCCM 2012 Sp1 environment.

The strange thing is that even after that we have established the forest trust and everything works fine in Configuration Manager the problem is the same with the LPD tool.

Solution After doing some testing in our lab we came up with the following solution.

The Microsoft tool ldp.exe that is a part of the Windows Server 2008 feature “Active Directory Domain Services Tools”. I have no problems discovering the primary forest which SCCM is installed in, but is this an external 2012 forest you are discovering? But I can’t find any documentation that says that a Forest Trust is a requirements to get the Active Directory System Discovery to work against a external domain.
