Finally managed to get Apps delivered to my test group (Yay!) but no such joy with Publishing Desktops .   • I was able to resolve it by deleting the Citrix group policy cache in the C:\ProgramData\CitrixCseCache folder and then running a gpupdate command on the server to update policy.
  • After I fixed the entry and restarted the print spooler service everything worked fine.

Apps have been fine, it's just when I try to access the published desktop it fails and I see the 4008 error in the event log on the Delivery Controller.
