I also think they are finding the fix to some of the other problems/adding new feature. If there is no such data remained, the Windows have possibly stopped the process and deleted the data when logoff. It was something to do with the user profiles and the registry in Windows. they don't give a hoot about you going elsewhere for protection.
As the laptop is part of a domain, the laptop will look to the server for a new copy of the users profile that has just been deleted! I discovered that if I turned off "Removable Media Scan" in NIS 2011 settings under Real Time Protection then my media card reader worked fine.
