I have a similar problem on a Windows 7 laptop system. We had to install clean OS and then perform System State recovery and such... VSS has always been disabled, but i did have a couple of manual snapshots stored. We have been able to manually snapshot after this event occurs and during work hours complete a full backup with no issues. Any help would be appreciated. If failed with completed within 5 min or less depends on selection of files and come up with Error 1004 â ¦. If it is an HP tape drive, use Library and Tape Tools to check it out. Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.
